Be sure it offers a good support for your back and that it is neither too short nor too tall. At the same time, they have to be sturdy enough to last a long time. This is especially true if you have active children who have a tendency to turn then into rocking chairs. Further, try to look for chairs that are easy to clean. Some fabrics stain more easily than others and you might not want this if your family loves food fights, or if you have a baby who is still beginning to shift from milk to solid foods.
Your grade school kids might also want to turn those chairs into blackboards.
Styles and designs vary greatly, from classic to contemporary, that it is virtually impossible not to find one that matches your kitchen. If your kitchen features wood cabinets with classic designs, look for wood chairs. Wrought iron chairs may also be used if their design is also classical. Contemporary wood cabinets are also available, and so are wood chairs that would perfectly match them. If the kitchen uses modern design, featuring stainless steel appliances and contemporary lighting, chairs of stainless steel or chrome would be appropriate.
